The mission of the Clinical Analysis and Microbiology Service is to contribute to the good health of the patients we treat under the highest quality standards. Through the information provided by the analysis of biological samples, the laboratory participates in the diagnosis, treatment, evolutionary monitoring and prevention of disease.
It is estimated that the information provided by the tests carried out in the laboratory influences up to 70% of clinical decisions, thus playing a fundamental role in the hospital care chain.
The Clinical Analysis and Microbiology Laboratory Service has a quality management system for all its processes, with the UNE-EN-ISO 9001-2015 certification
Scientific Developments
Quality and Speed
For this purpose, it has a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals offering a wide range of diagnostic tests in virtually all subject areas. The laboratory is based on a highly automated and computerised model with first-class materials and technological resources. It has the latest technology in both analytical equipment and computer systems for data management and control over the entire process, offering the highest quality results in the shortest amount of time.
The speed at which infectious diseases are diagnosed is extremely important for oncology patients. Therefore, the laboratory has state-of-the-art equipment that allows for the detection of microorganisms through the introduction of molecular techniques such as multiple real-time PCR and mass spectrometry.
It has a quality management system included in the UNE-EN-ISO 9001-2015 Standard, which guarantees that it complies with its objectives and is adapted to the quality policy with instruments for planning, control, assurance and continuous improvement. This Standard acknowledges the quality of its management system, certifies the competence of its professionals, and ensures maximum diagnostic reliability.
